public health Much like our healthcare delivery systems, most believe that our public health infrastructure would benefit from significant redesign. Improving the work and effectiveness of public health is an imperative as our national focus moves from disease treatment toward prevention. Public health professionals should foster this transition. Specific system design work is also necessary to more effectively integrate public health and public health related activities into the fabric of the delivery system and our communities.
